Acceptance and Understanding Autism
Advisory Service
Dr. Leedy Hoque has opened the doors of her home for parents and carers of autistic children, who can see for themselves how she works with her son Aadil.
AUA and Dr. Leedy Hoque
AUA Advisory Service, the first of it’s kind in Bangladesh, aims to empower parents and carers of autistic children so they can take a more active role in their child’s development. AUA is led by Dr. Leedy Hoque, whose son Aadil Hoque suffers from autism.
Following intensive training at the Option Institute in the USA, Dr. Leedy Hoque set up and led a team of teachers in Aadil’s 1:1 home based educational and therapeutic programme in Oxford, UK between September 1996 to July 2000. This programme was supported by the Oxford Local Education Authority and the Department of Social Services.
AUA is the culmination of Dr. Hoque’s personal and unique experience over the past few decades. The approach she advocates is that which she applies to this day in dealing with Aadil and shares with AUA parents and carers.
